At OCS Capital, one of our core partners is Kruger Diamonds whose roots stretch back to 1978 when Thomas Kruger joined Christo Wiese at Ochta Diamonds. In 1980, Thomas went on his own to became one of the very first licensed rough diamond dealers in South Africa. In 2000, Thomas’ son Heno Kruger joined the family business.

Kruger is proud to be one of the most knowledgeable and trusted diamond traders in the industry. They have a plethora of experience in mining and manufacturing, as well as trading in the rough as well as polished trade. In 2007, they took the family business public and became the first fully integrated diamond mining company with operating mines in South Africa, Angola, Lesotho and the Democratic Republic of Congo.

In 2010, Heno Kruger left the family business and began his own diamond trading venture. In 2017, he reunited with some of his old mining partners and Morgenson Mining was born, an alluvial diamond exploration and mining operation with a focus on South Africa’s Northern Cape region. That same year, Heno and his partner Jacques McDonald started Kruger Diamond Traders – a rough and polished diamond auction and tender house with a digital platform which caters to the growing demand for e-commerce.

2022 saw Kruger Diamond Traders opening an auction and rough diamonds tender facility in Dubai. Kruger Diamond Traders DMCC had its inaugural tender during September 2022 with 40,000 carats on sale from various African mining ventures.

Kruger operates with care and integrity, always putting their clients first. Their passion and determination has allowed them to become one of the most dependable companies in the diamond industry.

The company is still family owned and operated to this day.
